Alchemist's Kit allows multi-exploring.

Boons

Description

Near-infinite combo with Skizza and Alchemist's Kit and various other alchemical cards, like Twitch Tonic, as described below, which is probably highly undesirable, mostly as it's an infinite-exploration combo that can't even be stopped by damage or hand-wipes due to its mechanic.

Alchemist's Kit first power should be "Display. While displayed, during recovery, when you would banish an Alchemical boon, you may discard it instead."

The rest of this answer is more controversial:

The unfortunate answer is that almost every boon in the game, most commonly found in MM + Alchemist CD, that allow you to draw cards from your discards should probably get nerfed, with Alchemist Kit and Twitch Tonic both being primo examples.

Twitch Tonic does have a more recent version that is less exploitable, and the recovery rules were intended to help curtail things like the old version as well, mind.

I'm honestly not clear that the Alchemist Kit needs a 2nd power at all, given its level, but if it has one, and in the interest of a more fair fix, it should probably be:
At the end of your turn, banish to heal 1d4+1 Alchemical boons.

During Recovery: If proficient, bury this card.

So, full version of powers for Alchemist's Kit:
Display. While displayed:

  • During recovery, when you would banish an Alchemical boon, you may discard it instead.
  • At the end of your turn, banish to heal 1d4+1 Alchemical boons.

During Recovery
If proficient, bury this card.

You could probably skip the "end of turn" restriction, but it's still plenty effective for its level that way - may as well give some room for a higher level alchemist kit, should anyone ever need a level 3-6 card for Core 2, eh?
