Scenario 7-4C1: Healthy Competition

Setup

When building the locations, choose a number of locations equal to the number of characters + 2 (or use the locations below as default). When preparing story banes, each character chooses two story banes of level 2 to 4, excluding Blood Pig Bout (or use the henchmen above as default). Shuffle a non-closing henchman Bardic Exaggeration-Proxy A <NEW STORY BANE> and the non-closing henchman Bardic Exaggeration-Proxy B into each location. Shuffle the Acid Mantis Queen and all chosen story banes together into a story pile.

During This Scenario

  • When you would summon a new story bane, instead take the top card of the story pile.
  • When you succeed at a check to defeat by 20 or more, gain 1 respect point (use markers to track these until the end of the scenario).
  • Cards discarded as damage during an encounter are reloaded instead.
  • When you fail to defeat a bane, recharge your hand and draw a number of cards equal to the number recharged.
  • To win, the party must gain a total number of respect points equal to twice the number of characters.

Powers:
Choose either monster or barrier; summon and encounter a new story bane of the chosen type. Choose one of the following and apply it to the summoned story bane:

  1. Only 1 card may be played during this encounter.
  2. The difficulty to defeat is increased by 10+#.
  3. Before acting, summon and encounter 3 new monsters.
  4. You may instead succeed at a Diplomacy, Stealth, or Survival 18+# check to defeat.

If all summoned banes are defeated, gain 1 respect point; this barrier is defeated.
