Errata #18
openThe Carnival design does not match Core dice.
Description
The Carnival lets you flip dice, but Core and Curse boxes (or at least my print/manufacturing run) come with non-standard dice that do not "flip" values as expected (1->8, 2->7, etc, for a d8) and instead seem to have randomly assigned numbers to surfaces. This was not in line with design intent (as per Keith), as the design was made long before the manufacturing was sorted out.

To bypass having to take the design of the dice into consideration, change the power:
"On any check, discard to bless. After the roll, you may flip 1 non-d4 die upside-down and take the new result."
to the following:
"On any check, discard to bless. After the roll, you may change the value of any non-d4 die. The new value is the opposite of the starting value, determined by the following pairs: 1 and 12; 2 and 11; 3 and 10; 4 and 9; 5 and 8; 6 and 7."
Not elegant or concise, but accurate.

Probably not going to be worth the effort. It's still highly effective and functional enough as is.
Even if it does encourage you to use different dice...
