Before building the locations, set aside the monster Mercenary; treat it as a story bane monster. When building the location, build the Shop location a number of times equal to the number of characters and shuffle all the cards together. After preparing the story banes, shuffle the non-closing henchman Shield Guardian \<NEW STORY BANE> and a Mercenary--Proxy A for each character into the Shop location.
